Cacao really is a girl’s best friend!

September 23, 2012

Ladies, I have decided to start this blog because I believe that we as women often undervalue ourselves, and often neglect what we really need to do for ourselve, in order to be at our very best.

I recently started a bit of a health overall – a detox (yes, I realise that has become SO boring a word to hear, as everyone seems to be doing a detox these days..) and a regular exercise regime – and I have just found that my mood, my self-confidence, my entire outlook on life has completely shifted.! I always had an inkling that making a move like this might really shift me in to gear, but always managed to find some excuse or another.

And so, here I am, doing it, and finding myself wanting to share random thoughts and ideas about health and well-being, and us taking the best care of ourselves, so that we can take the best care of others.

My detox has so far been going for just over a week, and during this time one of the obvious things I have had to cut out is processed foods and sugar. I am, well have for a VERY long time, been a big sugar addict. And I do think that this is a common trait amongst women. And people in general in fact. I have been loving making raw chocolate treats – just pure raw cacao, dates, and walnuts. Tiny and unbelievably satisfying AND easy to make, these little gems have managed to completely quash my usual desire for sugary, starchy foods. Pretty amazing.

So Ladies, if you find yourselves feeling less than your best, I suggest ditching all the processed sugary stuff and chocolate – and whipping up some raw choc treat yourself! Or if you are pressed for time, start to get in to some of the wonderful raw chocolates out there in health food stores. My personal faves are Loving Earth and Pana raw chocolate.

It will change your life!
